FEEDBACK

Here are more of the letters recently received from Candid Camera viewers. (Please note, only signed letters will be considered for publication.)

CANDID FANS
This is one of the best, most creative shows on television. We do not understand why it is not on regularly. We miss seeing it.
—Adam & Jeannie D'Ambrosio

Just wanted to write and say how much we enjoy your show. We have been disappointed it hasn't been on recently. Hopefully your show will be back on soon. It's a show that is as realistic as TV can get, giving a true picture of the everyday person in our country at their best (or worst depending how you view it). It's a fun family show and truly adds a smile to our faces.
—Hank Breslin and daughter, Kristen, Lansdale, PA

Upon completion of this e-mail, I'm going to write Leslie Moonves at CBS Entertainment and demand that Candid Camera be given a fair shake. Scheduling your show for a Friday evening was not the best slot to begin with, and when you announced you were being switched to Saturday, I heard the tolling of the death-bell. I e-mailed you then and predicted you were headed for the morgue if the Saturday evening schedule stuck. Well, Saturday evenings stuck, and you've been shown only three times since then. Your show is almost always bumped off by something else. This sort of treatment is unfair to the cast and crew of Candid Camera, as well as the viewers. I'm miffed and intend to do something about it. In me, you have a friend!
—Col. Harry S. Bachstein

I am so upset at CBS for not having Candid Camera on. My husband and I looked so forward to your show every week. With all that is going on in the world today we need programs like yours to just get us through another week. We have not had a really good laugh since your show was taken off of Friday nights. We would rather stay home and spend quality time together with some great laughs. CBS, where are your heads at?
—Diana & Mickey Crescenzo, Hollywood, Florida

I love your program. It has taught me to laugh in a way I didn't know was possible. Sometimes I laugh so hard my eyes nearly pop out. Where are you? Frustrated in San Francisco.
—Yael Davenport

I adored Candid Camera as a child and am thrilled that you have revived the idea with your crazy stunts. For those of us living average lives, it is such a blessing to have our funny bone adjusted as often as possible.
—Kathleen Beach

Candid Camera is my favorite show on television. I would watch it every night if it were on. I intend to write CBS Entertainment and tell them to get it back on a regular basis. Keep up the great work!
—David Hudson

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your show. It is so nice to see a family show nowadays. I am a single father raising two young children on my own. It is hard enough trying to protect them from all that is going on outside the house, to have to worry about what is on TV. They really enjoy sitting down with me at night and watching the show and we really laugh a lot. Thank you for taking some of the worries out of my day.
—Giovanni Frisina, Waterford, PA

"BILLIONS" OF OPINIONS

As much as I've always loved Candid Camera, your "Billion Dollar Answer" was by far the most callous stunt I've ever seen on your show. I don't know how anyone could have seen humor in such an awful concept.
—Paul Tagliaferri, Meadville, PA

I love your show and if you would just dedicate your show to me on one of the episodes I would gladly give you all the funny ideas that you want for free! I am watching your show now. I am watching the one about the buzzer game show. I love your material.
— Kaila Groelsma

I think the bit you did on the "Billion Dollar Answer" was not at all funny. It was a very jerky thing to do to those people. I will never watch your show again.
—Christian Dewey, Los Angeles

I had given up on your show. But after the "Billion Dollar Answer" I will be a regular again. Keep up the good work!
—Rick Shreve

CAN WE TARGET SOMEONE?
All I really want to know is it possible to have someone set up? I have a friend who is always working and serious and just needs to get a good laugh in and I was wondering if things like that are possible?
—Erin C.

I would just love it if you could play a practical joke on my husband. For the past 11 years, we have always tried to find ways that we could play tricks on each other, scare each other, or just get one up on each other. We both have a wonderful sense of humor, which has always helped us through some pretty rough times. His name is Dave and he is sleeping right now, so have to hurry. Thank you for your time and your show. It's nice to be able to watch TV with your family and just laugh!
—Michelle LaRoche, Worcester, MA

[Peter's reply: Sorry guys, we don't target specific people for Candid Camera. Our humor depends on the random sampling of behavior. That's why we try to show you several different people in each situation. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't pull your own pranks. Good luck!]
