MORE ON THE CLOTHING DEBATE
I can't believe so many people wrote to complain about Suzanne's
clothing and hair. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the hosts showed up in jeans
and T's or pink "Brittany" hair. The stunts are great and the hosts do a wonderful
job. I especially appreciate the fact that they aren't constantly cracking un-funny
jokes like some hosts. Keep up the great work.

Suzanne, I think you look great. I wish I looked that good. I don't
know what is wrong with the other people out there. And Mr. Funt, you look great
too. Don't change your taste of clothes. I love the show.

Suzanne is a pretty woman but she doesn't have to take it to the
EXTREME! She has no sense of fashion smarts at all. All her outfits are loud,
gaudy and cheap looking! She belongs in a "3 ring circus," next to all the other
clowns! The last show she was wearing this "peachy-orange" looking thing. Was
that something you would want to be seen in on national television? No, how horrid!
It seems like she is trying to be in the running with the "Tammy Faye" look! By
the way, her legs are about five shades darker than her upper half. Suzanne: Aren't
you embarrassed about the way you look?

I can't understand all the fuss over what our fabulous hosts are
wearing. For all you complainers out there: You are tuned into a comedy show,
not Fashion File. Might we perhaps have a peek into YOUR wardrobe and see what
lurks within?

I'm 69 and have watched Candid Camera all my life (or at least for
50 years). Peter is as good, or better, than his Dad was, especially when he participates
in the skits. Despite all the negative comments, don't let Suzanne change her
clothes. They look terrific on her.

My husband and I watch your show all the time. My husband has had
a crush on Suzanne Somers every since she was on "Three's Company." If you are
ever in our area we were wondering if he could be on your show and work with Suzanne
on a joke. He would be really good at it and it would fulfill a big dream of his.

THIS ACCOUNTANT KNOWS HIS STUFF
I am a 47-year-old CPA. I watched Candid Camera as a youngster.
Now, I watch it every Friday night with my fiancée, Mary. I have tried to figure
out why I laugh more at Candid Camera than at any comedy. This is my theory: To
fully enjoy a comedy the viewer must undergo a process known as "suspension of
disbelief." The characters on the stage or screen must be accepted as real in
order for the audience to be moved to laughter. The best actors are the ones who
convey that sense of reality. What makes Candid Camera so effective is the realization
that we are truly seeing real people, reacting honestly, to rather absurd situations
in which they find themselves. When I watch your show, I laugh till it hurts.

THANKS FOR THE RATING
One time I got to fill out a Nielsen rating thing and at that time
CC was not on the air, but I wrote it in as my favorite show! I love CC and we
watch it every week and yes even the reruns! One thing my husband says every time
is, I wish they would show more of the people's reactions when they find out it's
the CC show! That is our favorite part. Another wish we have is for the show to
be on for an hour!

LOVE THOSE SMILES
It is rare that I get to have a full-blown belly laugh. Last week's
show was hilarious. I especially liked the handshake skit. Keep up the excellent
work! I may even start staying home on Friday nights.

I would first like to say "THANK YOU" for giving me a lot to smile
about. I wish the show came on more often. My family and I really enjoy the show.
It's the best thing on television today. Keep up the good work, and please, don't
ever go off the air again.

I'm from Utah, I am just writing to tell you that I really like
your show, but I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we want you to
come to Utah! There are plenty of things to catch people on. For instance, my
stepdad is an owner of a tax company, and he is sooooo careful about how he keeps
his money, so if you guys showed up as like a bill collector saying he owes you
money, that would be hilarious. Please come to Utah and see us.
Angie
I love your show especially the roadrunner one, it was hilarious.
I really enjoy watching your show. If you could write me back I would really appreciate
it. Well, buh-bi.

DURWARD KIRBY
I've been wondering, what became of Durward Kirby?
Paul F.
[Peter's reply: Durward Kirby, the tall, quiet and talented
fellow who co-hosted Candid Camera in the 1960's, died last March at age 88. If
you'd like to read the Associated Press story, click

IS THAT REALLY LITTLE RICHARD?
In the intro to the show Mr. Funt comments on the theme song and
he identifies the singer as Little Richard. I believe he is incorrect. I think
the singer is Terrence Trent Darby. Am I correct?
Carol Stafford, Eagan, Minnesota
[Peter's reply: Carol, check the picture in our "About
Candid Camera" section. I'm quite certain that the fellow I'm standing with, the
guy I hired to sing the latest version of our theme, is Little Richard. Of course,
it could have been someone wearing a Little Richard disguise trying to trick me,
but I don't think so.]
