TIMES CHANGE; DO PEOPLE?
I just want to say I enjoy the show immensely. Although I was quite
young the first time it came out and mostly remember reruns, it is particularly
interesting to see the same stunt pulled years ago and then again today to compare
the reactions of people and the times. In some ways times have changed a lot and
in other ways they haven't. The people doing the dance lesson tonight (Feb. 12)
did a wonderful job. You've got to give them a lot of credit for trying. Keep
up the great work. It is good seeing Suzanne Somers on something that she excels
and gives her an opportunity to bring out her beautiful intelligent personality
and Peter you are doing a wonderful job!

EASY TO RELATE
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy watching Candid Camera.
I enjoyed the show where the supermarket customers couldn't get the vegetable
bags open and the fruit would fall out. It makes things much funnier when you
can relate to them. Keep the great work.

HIS FAVORITE
I love watching your show, it's the best show on TV now. There is
not a segment that I didn't like. The best one was when you had people trying
all those dried-up highlighters to see if they work, and then you sent them in
a room with a TV in it to see if they notice that they'd been taped. I remember
one man reading a newspaper didn't notice that he was on TV. Did he ever find
out?
Alton Malone, Columbus, Georgia
[Peter's reply: Well, of course he found out! No one appears
on Candid Camera without giving us written permission to use the footage on the
air. The guy reading the newspaper sure was surprised when we finally told him.]
WAS IT YOU?
I was wondering if you ever had a segment about a faucet that would
not work in the Philadelphia airport. My son was traveling and swears it was a
Candid Camera gag. We aren't sure if he is pulling our legs! In any case, thank
you for bringing smiles across the miles and the hearts of real America to all
of us.
Ginnie Hughes, Corning, New York
[Peter's reply: As a matter of fact, we did a joke with
restroom faucets that will be on soonbut it was in Mississippi, not Pennsylvania.
I'd check your son's story again.]
RX: LAUGHTER
Thanks for all the laughs. I always loved your show and I do believe
laughter is the best medicine. Inch by inch life is a cinch.

A RIOT
The only thing we don't like about the show is that it is not long
enough. We could watch it five days a week. The gags that Peter Funt does are
the best. He is absolutely a riot. Our favorite gag was when Peter played the
airplane pilot with the crutches. How do you guys keep a straight face when you
do these things?
The Anzalones, Massachusetts
LAUGH 'TILL IT HURTS
I just wanted to tell you that I laugh more during your show than
any other time of the week. I smiled so much tonight I thought I would sprain
a muscle in my face! Thanks for the hilarious family entertainment.
James Watson, 17, Ohio
FAMILY SHOW
My family and I have grown accustom to watching your show every
Saturday night. I have three boys ages 16,12,8. Each loves to watch or record
your show when it comes on. We were watching the Valentine Love and Laughs show
Feb. 12 and enjoyed it until the Kissing/Viagra skit came up. My 8-year-old asked
me if "what" was working? Because all the other sitcoms exploit sex to sell their
show we have chosen not to watch this type of entertainment. I would only ask
that you not change from the "family" values that we are losing in today's society.
We love your show and hope to continue watching long into the next millennium.
The Hull Family, Abilene, Texas
[Peter's reply: We try very hard to make Candid Camera
suitable for families. I have kids 8 and 10, and we all watch together. Some jokes
are slightly more adult, but never in a way that parents like us would have a
difficult time explaining.]
